Sunday Night Baseball, featuring the aces

MLB: Oakland Athletics at Chicago White Sox
Sunday’s Best: Lucas Giolito is the ace of our staff for a reason; tonight, look for his best performance of the year.

For the first time since 2013, the Chicago White Sox will be on ESPN for their Sunday Night Baseball broadcast. Teeing off against Cleveland, this game will feature each team’s pitching ace.

Lucas Giolito (1-1, 5.17 ERA), in his last appearance against Cleveland, pitched six shutout innings. He struck out six batters and only gave up four hits. He looks for much of the same for tonight’s ballgame.

Shane Bieber is undoubtedly having a CY-Young-like season. He is currently 3-0 with a 0.83 ERA. If anything, he is due for a bad game, and what better time than primetime?

The Boys in Black responsible for bringing Cleveland’s ace back down to Earth:

Leury García will leadoff, and José Abreu slides down into the cleanup spot, as the designated hitter. Yasmani Grandal bats third and will start at first base for the first time in his short White Sox career.

Cleveland will try to get to our ace with these guys:

Francisco Lindor remains batting third, and Sandy León will catch this ballgame.

The Sunday ‘83s look to rock the late-night stage and bring home a victory!

Zach Plesac wins the weekend’s Darwin Award for “going out with friends” after yesterday’s win. He has been sent home to Cleveland after breaking team quarantine protocol.
