The 2020 Chicago White Sox have an opportunity to clinch a spot in this year’s playoffs if they win and both the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers lose. Because they cannot focus on the other two games’ outcomes, the White Sox simply look to take the series with a third win against these Minnesota Twins.
The ace, Lucas Giolito, is tasked with the important task. Giolito (4-2, 3.43 ERA) last saw these Twins on August 31. He threw five innings of four-run baseball, only surrendering four hits and two earned runs; the White Sox did go on to win that ballgame. They look to keep the offense alive and tighten up their defense to do some more winning tonight.
Jake Odorizzi (0-1, 8.10 ERA) has struggled in only three games he has pitched in this season. The Illinois native looks to turn his early struggles around coming off of his injured list stint, but he faces a hot ball club, so he might just want to wait another five days . . .
These heavy hitters are some people you just simply do not want to mess with on the baseball diamond:

James McCann stays in the lineup after his two extra-base hit and two-RBI performance in last night’s game.

Nelson Cruz likes to bat against Giolito, but hopefully, his bat stays quiet.
