Not much by way of big news this afternoon. Ricky Renteria did weigh in on some possible lefty additions in the last week of the season:
Ricky on missing lefties Bummer and Rodón: "I would just say we are feeling very cautiously optimistic about Bummer and Rodón."

Ricky says Bummer went through a sim game, the 2nd since he’s been back with the team. Rodón threw 2 innings in Schaumburg yesterday and it went well.
Meanwhile, Chris Getz offered his thoughts on Garrett Crochet cementing a spot in the playoff bullpen:
Getz on Crochet's playoff future: "He needs to continue to pound the zone, use all three pitches, and if he does that, it doesn’t take a lot to figure out he will help us in a playoff run. You got a 3-game set right out of the gate, so you don’t know what it’s going to bring you"

Tim Anderson passed all health tests and is back at leadoff.
