White Sox Home Playoff Game Tips & Tricks

It’s gonna be plenty busy at the ballpark, so here’s the team’s guide to getting around.

There’s truly nothing special to add here from South Side Sox, but as a public service for those of you attending these sold-out games, here are the guidelines for parking and attendance the White Sox have laid out. We’ll lock it on the top fold of the page until the home games are ova.

CHICAGO WHITE SOX 2021 ADVISORY FOR POSTSEASON GAMES AT GUARANTEED RATE FIELD

CHICAGO – As the White Sox return home for Game 3 of the American League Division Series (ALDS), the organization shares the following recommendations for fans who are attending postseason games at Guaranteed Rate Field, beginning Sunday, October 10 vs. the Houston Astros.

Gate Opening Times and Ballpark Entry

Street closures and heavy traffic are expected with the Chicago Marathon also scheduled on Sunday, October 10. Fans are encouraged to plan ahead, check street closures and take public transportation, if possible.

First pitch of Game 3 of the ALDS is Sunday, October 10 at 7:07 p.m. CT. Fans are encouraged to arrive early.

Gates open two hours before the game.

All White Sox tickets are mobile.

Parking Information

Only prepaid parking will be accepted at Guaranteed Rate Field during the postseason, including all accessible parking. Day-of-game parking is available in the overflow lots located at IIT and McCormick Place.

Parking lots open three hours before the start of the game. Fans holding mobile prepaid parking coupons should display the coupons prominently as they approach the ballpark.

Red parking passes will be accepted in the lots north of 35th Street, and green parking passes will be accepted in the lots south of 35th Street.

Rideshare and Public Transportation

Fans planning to use rideshare services can head to the Rideshare Zone in Lot A for pick-up and drop-off.

The White Sox recommend that fans utilize public transportation. The CTA Red Line stops near the ballpark at the Sox-35th Street station, and the Green Line is just two blocks farther east at the 35th Street station.

A Metra stop at 35th Street is conveniently located just east of the Dan Ryan Expressway, along the Rock Island line.

Additional Fan Information

ALDS Game 3 will be broadcast on FS1 on Sunday, October 10 at 7:07 p.m. CT.

Bags will not be allowed into the ballpark. Exceptions will be made for medical bags, small clutch purses (under 9´´ x 5´´ in size) and diaper bags when an infant is present.

Major League Baseball and the Chicago White Sox are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and enjoyable fan experience at Guaranteed Rate Field. Any person using derogatory language or demonstrating unruly behavior or actions will be subject to ejection from the ballpark.

Finally, the White Sox ask fans to be respectful of the neighborhood and homes surrounding the ballpark before and after games.
