With José Rodríguez getting a day off, Yolbert Sánchez stepped in and stepped up. He went 2-for-3 as the DH, and drove in one of the four Desert Dogs runs. He is now hitting better than .300 after the two hits today. Yoelqui Céspedes did play today and added a couple of hits of his own. He had two singles in five tries with a run scored. He still is not showing much power in the fall, but he has had several games of reaching base at least twice.

The two relief pitching prospects for the Sox did pretty well, too, with Caleb Freeman getting in first. He lowered his ERA to 1.50 with a 1 13 shutout innings. He did allow a couple of hits so it wasn’t clean, but he got the job done. McKinley Moore finished out the 7-4 loss with another donut in the runs column, over 1 23 innings. Moore has not had a stellar AFL season, but he was able to get five outs pretty easily today.
