2021 South Side Sox Prospect Vote: Round 27

Round 26 was so close that it necessitated an “overtime” voting period to decide the winner. Regular voting had finished with Konnor Pilkington and James Beard tied, but the extra time allowed Beard to step ahead with a one-vote win, with 21% (17 of 82 votes). A year ago, Beard was the No. 36 prospect in our vote.

Last year, DJ Gladney finished at 26th in our balloting.

Konnor Pilkington seems to be in the catbird seat for the No. 27 spot, but we’ll see; after all, Beard jumped from No. 6 in the prior poll to earn this last win — and that after finishing last and receiving zero votes in his first two times on the ballot. Newcomer Andrew Perez finished sixth, earning six votes, while fellow reliever Will Kincanon jumped from last place to fifth this round.
