Hail, Blake!

It was a rough fall for the blue-chip prospect, especially surprising given the fact that player personnel director Chris Getz was highest on Rutherford (along with No. 1 prospect Andrew Vaughn) for his performance at the alternate site in Schaumburg last summer. At any rate, Rutherford moved on and took the No. 16 slot, with 29% (37 of 128 votes). Rutherford finished 10th in last year’s poll, eighth in 2019, and ninth in 2018.

In the 2020 poll, Danny Mendick finished as our No. 16 prospect in the vote.

New addition Seby Zavala earned three votes, keeping him out of the basement.

Adolfo missed the first half of 2019 recovering from arm surgery and only DHed in the minor league season. All 10 of his Arizona Fall League games were spent in right field, however, with one error and one assist.

While Johnson was bypassed by other organizational righties (like Codi Heuer and Matt Foster) in terms of getting a taste of the majors in the truncated 2020 season, he was at the Schaumburg alternate site last summer, and the team thinks enough of his major league readiness that he was protected last fall on the team’s 40-man roster.
