IMPORTANT NOTE: This show was recorded before the terrible news about Eloy’s shoulder. That would have dampened the frivolity a whole bunch — and changed some roster predictions.
You heard it here first — an (indirect) assessment of the man she knows as Uncle Kenny by someone who should know because she’s part of a famous baseball family!
As for actual baseball stuff, South Side Sox duty geezer and his son and west coast correspondent, Will, talk about Dallas Keuchel, Dylan Cease and the rest of the White Sox staff, but fail at trying to figure out who will take the place of the newly departed Reynaldo López on the Opening Day roster.
On the failure front, neither can fathom why anybody would ever walk Billy Hamilton on four pitches, as happened twice in one game this week, but they agree that Hamilton will be the roster replacement for the injured Adam Engel.
And, of course, there’s the usual banter about the usually-less-than-immortal Zack Collins, including speculation Collins might finally have quite swinging like he has to drive the ball into the next state and become a more intelligent batter, leading to his success this spring.
Plus, Will may become the first SSSer to see a real game this year, since he has tickets for the weekend of the opening series in Anaheim.
