The Sox delayed their lineup announcement as they awaited to see how José Abreu would fare in workouts today. After giving the green light, Sox fans can hold their heads up high as the slugger returns tonight to anchor the lineup against the Kansas City Royals.
The largely struggling Adam Eaton is taking a day off, giving way to Leury Garcia in RF and Billy Hamilton in CF. Zack Collins also gets the starting nod tonight in place of Yasmani Grandal. Taking the mound is Carlos Rodón, who hopes to continue pace as the unofficial ace of the White Sox staff.
Here’s how the full lineup shakes out:

The newly recalled Kelvin Gutiérrez gets the start at third for the Royals in place of Hunter Dozier, while Mike Minor takes the mound. Minor has struggled mightily this year and did not fare well the last time he faced the White Sox, giving up five runs in five innings. Hopefully, given the history of lefty pitchers against these Sox bats, it’s another big day for the Sox on offense.
