Downpours and dangerous weather suspended Saturday’s White Sox game in the middle of the third inning; it was thought there was a window to get at least five innings in, but the clouds did not listen.
The suspended game will be a nine-inning contest and the originally-scheduled game will last seven innings. The seven-inning game will start approximately 30-45 minutes following the conclusion of the first game. Parking lots will open at 11 a.m. and gates at 11:40 a.m.

Fans with tickets and parking to Sunday’s game can attend both the completion of the suspended game and the regularly-scheduled contest.

The scoreless game resumes at 1 p.m. tomorrow, presumably as a White Sox bullpen game, with Yermín Mercedes at the plate with none out in the bottom of the third.
It wasn’t a terribly efficient start for Lance Lynn, but his hitless and scoreless three frames did drive his ERA back down to 2.06, although it took 47 pitches to do so. Lynn had two walks and four Ks.
The only hit for the White Sox, and of the game, came on a bloop to left by José Abreu in the second inning.
I’m unsure whether Sunday will qualify as a game where a 27th man can be called up for the pitching staffs, as it’s not a “formal” doubleheader; however, it would seem so, given that the nightcap is now being adjusted to a seven-inning game. Tomorrow’s Charlotte starter may be taking a redeye to Chicago tonight!
