The White Sox again try to get off the schneid against Houston, with Lucas Giolito charged with an endeavoring to end the 0-5 streak. Giolito will be facing Jake Odorizzi, a very familiar opponent when he was with the Twins.

Both Giolito and Odorizzi somehow missed the four-game series in Houston earlier this season. The Astros righty is just 3-4 on the season, with a 3.61 ERA, with most of his poorer performances coming in April before an IL stint. Last time out, he gave up seven hits and two runs to the Yankees over six innings. Last time out against the Sox was September 16, when Odorizzi was coming off a different IL stint with the Twins, and had a purposely short outing. Lifetime, he’s 3-4 with a 3.15 ERA against the White Sox, almost a match for his season so far.

Odorizzi will be facing a Sox lineup with Brian Goodwin in the cleanup spot and Jake Burger at DH.

Giolito, who is 7-6 with a 4.15 ERA this year, is 1-3 with a 4.68 ERA against the Astros, but, of course, it has been a long time since he faced them. He’ll be tossing to the usual suspects, though Alex Bregman is still out.

Gametime is 6:10 p.m. CT, with usual radio, but you’ll have to go Fox hunting to get the tube.
