Happy Trade Deadline Day to those who celebrate.
The White Sox wasted no time adding César Hernández to the lineup today (see below), so it’s nice to play Cleveland and have him on our side.
Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. Cleveland, the #WhiteSox added infielder César Hernández and right-handed pitcher Ryan Tepera to the active roster and optioned right-hander Ryan Burr and infielder Danny Mendick to Class AAA Charlotte.

We’re going to miss Nick Madrigal, and I guess some people might miss Codi Heuer.

But the trade deadline is over for another year, and I for one am happy about that because it is stressful.
Tonight opens a series against Cleveland and I hope it goes better than the last few Fridays I’ve covered, because it’s been rough. It’s going to be J.C. Mejía facing off against Lance Lynn. Mejía has a 7.52 ERA and a 1-6 record, while Lynn has a 1.91 ERA and 10-3 record. I’m a big fan of these “Career vs. Lynn stats” of the Cleveland lineup:

Hopefully the White Sox remember that they have to hit the ball, too. Speaking of ...
José Ramírez leads the team in home runs (22) and RBIs (60) while Amed Rosario leads in batting average (.261).
Josh Reddick is still day-to-day, so he may make an appearance in right this series, but we’ll see.
Here’s how everyone is lining up tonight:
Lance Lynn is 6-2 with a 1.50 ERA (11 ER/66.0 IP), .169 (40-236) average and 74 strikeouts over 11 starts at home this season.
