After dropping two out of three in Kansas City against the Royals (62-75), the White Sox (79-58) head to the west coast to take on the Athletics (74-63). The South Siders enter tonight’s matchup with a 3-1 record this season against Oakland.

Jimmy Lambert, 26, will start on the mound for the White Sox. Lambert has limited MLB experience, as he has only pitched 10 innings in the majors (eight of them were this season). Regardless, he is back with the White Sox, and he will face a tough lineup tonight, as Oakland averages 4.53 runs per game. Lambert enters with a 9.00 ERA, 9.50 xERA, 8.29 FIP, and -0.2 fWAR, though the sample size is extremely small.

James Kaprielian, 27, will be the starter for the Athletics. Kaprielian enters with a 3.87 ERA, 4.55 xERA, 4.60 FIP, and 0.7 fWAR. Kaprielian was drafted by the Yankees in the first round (16th overall) in the 2015 MLB Draft. This is Kaprielian’s first season with a serious number of MLB innings (97 23 IP), but he has been a solid piece of Oakland’s rotation.

Here are tonight’s starting lineups:

Tonight’s game will start at 8:40 p.m. Central. As usual, NBC Sports Chicago will televise it, and WMVP 1000 AM will have the radio coverage. We will see you then.
