White Sox 2024 initial promo schedule announced

The team might let me down, but at least the promos are cool

Chrystal O'Keefe is an Indiana native who balances her time between Indianapolis and Chicago. She enjoys being a mother, wife and author. In her down time she enjoys petting every dog she sees, getting tattoos, baking and advocating for causes she believes in. But most of all, she enjoys tweeting during baseball and hockey to calm her nerves. You can follow her nonsense here: @chrystal_ok.

Baseball fans — we’re just a month away from pitchers and catchers reporting (February 14) on the day of love. Usually, I would love to spend my Valentine’s Day scrolling social media for any pictures and reports of the happenings at Camelback Ranch. What is Lucas Gio- wait, he’s not there. My excitement for spring training is just not there.

However, White Sox fans can have one thing to look forward to — the promotional schedule! This tends to be one department the White Sox front office executes well. You have to give the fans cool White Sox swag if you want anyone to step foot into the ballpark this season to watch a less-than-mediocre squad run into the netting and hit right into double play or even a rare triple play.

Max Stassi and Erick Fedde aren’t tickling your fancy? Maybe the first promotional night will.

March 30: White Sox vs. Tigers
The first 15,000 fans in the door will receive a White Sox hoodie, perfect for those chilly spring games. I won’t lie; this hoodie is nice. I would wear it around my house and maybe outside if I’m brave enough to admit what team I root for.

April 13: White Sox vs. Reds
Are hoodies not your thing? Don’t worry, there’s a crewneck available just two weeks later. Presented by Miller Lite, the first 15,000 fans who are 21+ will receive a fun throwback sweatshirt. I like my crewnecks in XL, if anyone plans to go to that game.

April 27: White Sox vs. Rays
Another hockey sweater will be available this year — this time in Royals White Sox powder blue! This sweater is really nice and would be a great pickup for anyone, especially fans gearing up for the NHL playoffs and the early days of the White Sox season. CIBC has generously made this available to the first 20,000 fans in attendance.

May 11: White Sox vs. Guardians
If your mom is anything like me, take her out for an early Mother’s Day treat at the ballpark, and perhaps she’ll be lucky enough to pick up this outstanding White Sox quarter zip jacket brought to you by XFINITY. The first 20,000 fans will take home one of the best promotional items of the season. Don’t fret — you are still welcome to go and enjoy a nice evening at the ballpark if you don’t celebrate Mother’s Day.

P.S.: To the children I gave birth to — Mom would like to attend this game.

May 25: White Sox vs. Orioles
We finally have our first bobblehead of the season! Wintrust is giving out a Luis Robert Jr. bobblehead to the first 20,000 fans in the park. Get there early, because these will go fast.

June 8: White Sox vs. Red Sox
Another popular item will be handed out during the laundry series — a White Sox Hawaiian shirt! The first 20,000 people to enter can claim this iconic shirt, thanks to Beggars Pizza. Celebrate the upcoming summer season, pretend you’re on an island, or maybe put pineapple on your pizza. The possibilities with this button-up are endless.

June 29: White Sox vs. Rockies
Yasmani Grandal might be gone, but his spirit lives on with this White Sox basketball jersey presented by RUSH. This jersey is perfect for batting practice and the hot summer nights in Chicago. The first 20,000 fans can snag one.

July 13: White Sox vs. Pirates
Didn’t score the basketball jersey, but still want to flex your muscles? Come watch Andrew McCutchen and Co. take on the White Sox, and you might get one of these throwback jersey vests. The vests are presented by Vizzy and available to the first 15,000 fans 21+.

August 24: White Sox vs. Tigers
Nothing says preseason football quite like a White Sox football jersey. Presented by Guaranteed Rate, the first 20,000 fans can take this home and remember that not only is Chicago baseball mediocre, but the football is, too! At least the choice of No. 51 for the jersey honors Bears legend Dick Butkus.

As for theme nights and special celebrations, the White Sox are bringing back the tried and true, and a few new surprises.

  • Weather Day, presented by NBC 5 Storm Team, on Wednesday, May 1 vs. Minnesota
  • Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Night on Tuesday, May 14 vs. Washington
  • Polish Heritage Night on Tuesday, June 25 vs. the Dodgers
  • Italian Heritage Night on Tuesday, July 9 vs. Minnesota
  • African American Heritage Night on Wednesday, August 14 vs. the Yankees
  • Elvis Night and Postgame Fireworks, presented by Beggars Pizza, on Friday, August 23 vs. Detroit
  • Police & Fire Night on Wednesday, August 28 vs. Texas
  • Hispanic Heritage Night and Postgame Fireworks, presented by Modelo, on Friday, September 13 vs. Oakland
  • Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day, presented by Miller Lite, on Saturday, September 14 vs. Oakland

No Pride Night on the schedule yet? Hmm.

The 2024 season also includes several inaugural multicultural celebrations and theme nights. Featuring lotería and live band performances, the White Sox will further honor Latino fans during the organization’s first-ever Mexican Heritage Night on Wednesday, June 26, vs. the Dodgers.

Harry Potter Night and Postgame Fireworks on May 10 vs. Cleveland will celebrate the wizarding world while hopefully not allowing the transphobic author any additional monetary gain.

The debut of a new Reggaeton Night and Postgame Fireworks on Friday, May 24 vs. Baltimore invites fans to enjoy the rhythmic, energetic blends of the popular electronic genre.

Returning for the 2024 season, fans will again enjoy additional savings through the $5 Tuesday concessions menu, including select menu items like hot dogs and draft beer.

Firework Fridays promotions will light up the sky with awe-inspiring postgame shows every Friday home game this season (excluding April 12 and April 26), with the evening festivities on June 7 sponsored by the problematic organization “He Gets Us.”

Additionally, Family Sundays (presented by Coca-Cola) and Southside Mondays (United Airlines) will offer specially-priced tickets on Sunday and Monday home games during the 2024 season.

Promotional dates and giveaways are subject to change. Additional dates and new giveaways will be announced at a later date.
