Getting back on schedule with a few news and notes:
Charlotte: The White Sox signed reliever Frank Francisco, who was briefly a Sox farmhand before being traded to Texas as part of a package for the first Carl Everett deal in 2003. He's coming off two disappointing years with the Mets, divided evenly before and after surgery that removed a bone spur from his elbow. He'll join a crowded field in the Knights bullpen that currently includes fellow veteran righthanders MItchell Boggs, Javy Guerra and Zach Putnam.
Birmingham: The Barons' game in Mobile was rained out on Monday, which interrupted Gordon Beckham's quest to play on consecutive days for the first time in weeks. He'll get a chance to play two games in one day on Tuesday, as Birmingham will play a doubleheader against the BayBears.
Kannapolis: The Intimidators were also rained out in Hickory, N.C., on Monday. They, too, will play a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Monday's remaining scores will appear in the comments shortly.
