Charlotte 3, Norfolk 0

  • A perfect start for Matt Davidson: 3-for-3 with two doubles and a walk.
  • Jordan Danks (2 K), Carlos Sanchez (K) and Andy Wilkins each went 0-for-4.
  • Josh Phegley, 1-for-4 with a triple and a strikeout.
  • Jared Mitchell hit a two-run homer and struck out twice.

Birmingham 9, Montgomery 2

  • Micah Johnson went 2-for-4 with a homer, triple, walk and a strikeout.
  • Gordon Beckham went 0-for-3 with a strikeout.
  • Trayce Thompson, 0-for-5 with a strikeout.
  • Kevan Smith went 1-for-5 with two strikeouts.
  • Rangel Ravelo went 1-for-2 with a double, and was replaced in the fifth inning.
  • Keenyn Walker singled, walked, struck out twice and stole two bases.
  • Easy start for Chris Beck: 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 1 HR, 1 HBP, 64 pitches.

Wilmington 3, Winston-Salem 1

  • Jacob May went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.
  • Tim Anderson woudl like a do-over: 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and an HBP. He was also caught stealing and committed two errors.
  • Courtney Hawkins went 1-for-4 with a double, strikeout and a stolen base.
  • Keon Barnum went 0-for-1 with three walks.
  • Jason Coats wore the collar.
  • Nick Basto, 0-for-3.
  • J.B. Wendelken: 5 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
  • Kyle Hansen (1 IP, 2 K) and Euclides Leyer (2 IP, 1 BB, 2 K) are making the transition to the bullpen.

Greenville 3, Kannapolis 1

  • Adam Engel went 0-for-2 with two walks, a strikeout and a stolen base.
  • Cleuluis Rondon, 1-for-4 with a double.
