BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte was ground zero for White Sox minor league excitement on Sunday. You had:
No. 1: Carlos Rodon starting. The first-round draft pick continued his straight line to Chicago with a stellar line (4 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 K) and an increased pitch count of 73. Better yet, he started to get a feel for his fastball.
Rodon’s final pitch of the night was a fastball away that left Tides shortstop Ivan De Jesus shaking his head as he walked back to the dugout.
"After the second, I just tried (to focus on) staying in my arm slot and trusting my stuff," Rodon said. "(My last pitch of the game) was just nice and easy. I knew it was my last, so I gathered myself and it was smooth and came out good."
Here's that pitch:
No. 2: Adam Eaton rehabbing. Playing two consecutive full games, Eaton went 1-for-5 with two strikeouts and a stolen base. He's still on target to return to the White Sox on Tuesday.
No. 3: Four home runs. Marcus Semien, Josh Phegley, Jared Mitchell and Matt Davidson all teed off on Josh Stinson. Here's Davidson's 20th of the season:
No. 4: Alexi Casilla pitching. The Norfolk Tides ran out of available pitchers, so Casilla finished the game and took the loss.
Sunday's box scores will appear in the comments shortly.
