Arizona Fall League play began on Tuesday, but only one White Sox prospect was in the lineup. Courtney Hawkins started for the Glendale Desert Dogs in left. His counterpart on Scottsdale was Tim Tebow, in case you forgot that was a thing.
It should get more exciting from here. The White Sox’ supply of pitchers became a little more intriguing when they swapped out Connor Walsh for converted outfielder Louie Lechich. He joins Brian Clark -- a lefty with a future in Chicago — and Nolan Sanburn on Glendale’s pitching staff.
On the position side, Hawkins is flanked by Zack Collins, Trey Michalczewski and Danny Hayes. St. Louis catching prospect Carson Kelly caught the first game of the season, and he’s no slouch, so I’m not certain how much time Collins will get behind the plate.
Tuesday’s box score — and the rest, until/unless the comment count gets ridiculous — will appear in the comments below.
