White Sox Minor League Update: May 22-28

Scores, news and more from around the White Sox farm system

The cool thing about Tim Anderson's surge -- he has five multi-hit games during his six-game hitting streak -- is that he's also stealing bases.

After going 49-for-62 over 125 games at Birmingham, he's 10-for-13 in 39 games at Charlotte. While he's far off his pace from last year, that's still a 32-steal pace, with successes on his last six attempts. Beyond that, you probably don't want him throwing his body around as much if you want him to be in adequate condition for a second-half call-up.

His teammates haven't been as successful after running wild in 2015.

Jacob May

  • 2015: 38-for-55 over 101 games.
  • 2016: 4-for-7 over 36 games.

Eddy Alvarez

  • 2015: 53-for-68 over 123 games.
  • 2016: 4-for-7 over 36 games.

Jake Peter

  • 2015: 23-for-26 over 130 games.
  • 2016: 2-for-3 over 41 games.

Adam Engel

  • 2015: 65-for-76 over 136 games.
  • 2016: 18-for-22 over 39 games

OK, Engel's still on a 62-steal pace. The real problem with him, of course, is that he's doing it at Winston-Salem instead of Birmingham.

Sunday's box scores will appear below shortly.
