Yoan Moncada heading to the disabled list with a sore thumb

One way to temper the enthusiasm surrounding Yoan Moncada? Put him on the disabled list.

The beat reporters reported and the Charlotte Knights confirmed that Moncada will be going on the 7-day DL due to a persistent sore thumb.

Moncada had been in a bit of a funk, albeit a small one, going 2-for-14 with six strikeouts over his last three games (he somehow drove in four runs). He sat on Tuesday, but it looked like a normal game off until his second day off on Wednesday.
