North Carolina affiliates step up game with boss in Charlotte

BB&T Ballpark Jim Margalus / South Side Sox

Rick Hahn was in Charlotte Tuesday night, “catching up with the Triple-A prospects and staff” according to Colleen Kane. The natural leap is “Yoan Moncada promotion?”, which I’m sure is part of the assessment. It seems just as likely that this trip is more about the more pressing roster issues we discussed on Tuesday -- the lack of a left-handed semi-DH and the very wobbly fourth and fifth starters.

At any rate, the North Carolina affiliates stepped up their game by going 3-0, although Winston-Salem technically played in Virginia. Geography pedantry aside, it’s the kind of day that has allowed the White Sox to climb out of the cellar when it comes to organizational win percentage.
