James Shields, Carlos Rodon, Nate Jones, Zach Putnam and Dylan Covey are also on the shelf, but it was Jake Petricka who beat the rest back to a rehab stint.

On the disabled list with a lat strain after making just one appearance, Petricka showed signs of life by pitching a scoreless inning on Friday. Michael Ynoa left the major-league game the same night with a right quad injury, so a spot may open up soon enough.
