Jake Burger and Gavin Sheets head to Kannapolis, and other prospect news

Notable activity/inactivity on Friday:

*Jake Burger and Gavin Sheets made the jump from the Arizona Rookie League to Kannapolis, so you can start judging their seasons in earnest.

*Zack Collins was put on Winston-Salem’s inactive list as he heads to the Futures Game.

*Luis Robert hasn’t been in box scores lately for a reason:

(He is in one of today’s box scores, but only because he started a game that was suspended back in June.)

Also, Baseball America released its midseason top 100 list, and the White Sox placed five: Yoan Moncada (1), Michael Kopech (20), Luis Robert (45), Reynaldo Lopez (59) and Lucas Giolito (75).

Jackson 9, Birmingham 6

  • Eddy Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Jake Peter’s hot streak hit a snag: 0-for-4 with a walk and three strikeouts.
  • Nick Basto went 2-for-5 with two doubles.
  • Courtney Hawkins went 2-for-4 with a K.
  • Trey Michalczewski went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a strikeout.

Winston Salem 5, Carolina 3

  • Luis Alexander Basabe went 0-for-2 with a walk, a sac bunt and a stolen base.
  • Jameson Fisher went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.
  • Joel Booker, 1-for-4 with a strikeout.
  • Danny Mendick went 1-for-3 with a homer and a strikeout.

Kannapolis 7, Hagerstown 5 (7 innings, rain)

  • Luis Gonzalez went 0-for-4.
  • Gavin Sheets made his A-ball debut: 1-for-4 with a strikeout.
  • So did Jake Burger: 3-for-3 with a double.
  • Micker Adolfo went 0-for-3.
  • Aaron Schnurbusch went 2-for-3 with a strikeout.
  • Yosmer Solorzano: 7 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 2 HR

Missoula 2, Great Falls 1

  • Franklin Reyes went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.
  • Craig Dedelow, 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.
  • Justin Yurchak went 0-for-4, as did Carlos Perez.

AZL White Sox 4, AZL Angels 2

  • Lenyn Sosa went 0-for-3 with a sac bunt.
  • Alex Call, 0-for-4.
  • Jose Colina was 0-for-2 with two walks.
  • Sam Abbott, 1-for-3 with a walk.

DSL Padres 17, DSL White Sox 3 (completion of June 21 game)

  • Luis Mieses went 1-for-3, as did Luis Robert.
  • Anthony Coronado struck out in his only plate appearance.
  • Harvin Mendoza, 1-for-4 with a double and a strikeout.
  • Josue Guerrero, 0-for-4 with a strikeout. He was also picked off.
  • Anderson Comas, doubled, singled and struck out twice.
  • Ulises Martinez was 2-for-4.
  • Santo Vasquez, 1-for-4 with a homer and a strikeout.
  • Brayant Nova went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts.

  • Santo Vasquez went 2-for-3 with another homer and a strikeout. He also stole a base.
