White Sox Minor League Update: Aug. 9, 2017

A rough day up and down the farm

Winston-Salem outfield

On the White Sox Talk podcast, Chuck Garfien and Ryan McGuffey talked to Dane Dunning and Alec Hansen. The Dunning part was interesting, in that he talked about his suspension in May for throwing at Lucas Erceg after Erceg homered off him in a previous battle.

It starts around the 5:00 mark, and this sounds more like a feature than a bug.

“He pimped that home run, and I’m the type of pitcher if you pimp a home run off me, I don’t like that. If you hit a home run off me, hit a home run. Be a man and run around the bases. There’s no point in showing anybody up.” [...]

“He ducked under it. The ball wasn’t intended for that area. I kinda threw it over his head. It wasn’t intended for that specific spot. I was trying to hit him more his legs and ribs.”
