Every active affiliate won, which is a rarity

It doesn’t happen very often, but the White Sox affiliates went 6-0 on Thursday. An idle Great Falls kept it from being a perfect perfect day, but the Sox will take what they can get, given they have the worst organizational win percentage in all of baseball. Here’s an updated chart:

On one hand, it’s a little confusing that the team with a top-two farm system is dead last in minor league wins, especially when the Yankees, who were similarly stacked, are leading all of baseball. Then you look at the team the White Sox are trying to catch to climb out of the cellar, and realize it’s probably not worth parsing too much at this stage.

Charlotte 9, Lehigh Valley 8

  • Jake Peter went 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts.
  • Rymer Liriano was 3-for-5 with a homer, double and strikeout.
  • Casey Gillasie went 3-for-5 with two doubles.
  • Jacob May, 2-for-4 with a double, walk and stolen base.
  • Danny Hayes was 0-for-3 with two walks and a strikeout.
  • Eddy Alvarez went 2-for-5 with a strikeout.
  • Lucas Giolito: 6.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 1 HR

Birmingham 7, Chattanooga 4

  • Danny Mendick went 2-for-4 with a homer and a strikeout.
  • Nick Basto, 1-for-3 with a strikeout.
  • Courtney Hawkins, 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Trey Michalczewski doubled twice, singled and struck out.

Winston-Salem 5, Frederick 2

  • Eloy Jimenez went 1-for-3 with a double and two walks. He was caught stealing.
  • Zack Collins went 0-for-3 with two walks.
  • Seby Zavala was 2-for-4 with a homer and a walk.
  • Joel Booker went 1-for-3 with a strikeout and a stolen base.
  • Bernardo Flores: 6 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, 1 HR

Kannapolis 8, Greensboro 4

  • Alex Call went 1-for-4 with a strikeout.
  • Blake Rutherford was 1-for-4.
  • Jake Burger went 2-for-4.
  • Micker Adolfo hit a grand slam during a 2-for-4 night.
  • Gavin Sheets was 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk.
  • Evan Skoug went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.

AZL White Sox 5, AZL Brewers 3

  • Ramon Beltre went 2-for-4 with a homer and a stolen base.
  • Lenyn Sosa was 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Maiker Feliz struck out all three times.

DSL White Sox 7, DSL Padres 3

  • Brayant Nova went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base.
