With the White Sox unable to hand out bonuses larger than $300,000 to international players after blowing out their budget to sign Luis Robert, the Sox gave another team a portion of their pool money.
This time, they acquired pitcher Ryan Burr from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Burr, a fifth-round pick out of Arizona State in the 2015 draft, struck out 75 batters to 21 walks over 57 innings between A-ball Kane County and High-A Visalia. He’s trying to make up for lost time after an injury cost him the bulk of 2016 — not just the missed time, but lost effectiveness while trying to find his stuff.
Ryan Burr is ASU's all-time saves leader. Was 94-96 with an above average slider as a junior, set-up profile. Injured early as pro, is back.

If nothing else, the White Sox can make ample jokes by having him on the same roster as Ian Hamilton.
