White Sox Minor League Update: Sept. 4, 2017

The regular season is over for Charlotte, Birmingham and Winston-Salem

The top three full-season White Sox affiliates wrapped up their seasons on Monday. The standings aren’t pretty:

Charlotte Knights: 61-81, fourth out of four in the International League South.

Birmingham Barons: 53-85, worst record in the Southern League.

Winston-Salem Dash: 56-84, worst record in the Carolina League.

Kannapolis and Great Falls play on. The Intimidators open the postseason on Wednesday, and the Voyagers’ regular season runs through Saturday, with a playoff spot possible.

Charlotte 6, Norfolk 3

  • Jake Peter went 1-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Jacob May, 3-for-5 with a stolen base.
  • Casey Gillaspie was 0-for-3.
  • D.J. Peterson was 1-for-3 with a homer and a walk.
  • Eddy Alvarez singled thrice and walked once.
  • Danny Hayes was 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Tyler Danish: 6 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 2 HR

Mississippi 8, Birmingham 3

  • Eloy Jimenez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Nick Basto went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.
  • Courtney Hawkins, 2-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Trey Michalczewski was 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Danny Mendick, 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Winston-Salem 4, Salem 1

  • Jameson Fisher went 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
  • Ti’Quan Forbes, 1-for-3 with a walk.
  • Jimmy Lambert: 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K

Lakewood 3, Kannapolis 2 (12 innings)

  • Joel Booker went 0-for-5.
  • So did Luis Gonzalez, but with three strikeouts.
  • Jake Burger was also 0-for-5, but with only one K.
  • Blake Rutherford went 0-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Gavin Sheets went 1-for-5.
  • Alex Call, 1-for-3 with a double, sac bunt and strikeout.
  • Tyler Johnson: 1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
  • Kade McClure: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
  • Grant Massey finally gave up a run: 1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 K, 1 HR

Billings 2, Great Falls 1

  • Craig Dedelow went 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
  • Carlos Perez, 1-for-4.
  • Franklin Reyes went 2-for-4 with a double and a strikeout.
  • Amado Nunez was 1-for-4 with a double and a strikeout.
  • Justin Yurchak pinch-hit in the ninth and grounded out.
  • Lincoln Henzman: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K
